School Musings

 This week Mama joined me in my Skate Party bookends program.  She taught us all how to skate in a train!

Evil Witch

Trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea

Mommy Laura, her friend Sherri, and my friend Haley and I went to Carmel this past weekend.  We had a great time just hanging out together.  I provided fashion consultation to Mama at the consignment shop

Now that the weather has turned chilly.....

Beans

We 'planted' beans in a moistened paper towel in Science.  I brought mine home and watched them grow, without soil, in this environment.  This past weekend I planted them outside so we'll have to keep you posted if they grow!  The root structure was so cool. 

Science Fair

Trip to Angel Island

We are getting ready to talk about immigration in class.  On Saturday, Mommy Laura, Daddy Pat, and I went to Angel Island to learn about West Coast immigration.  I enjoyed taking pictures and working on putting together my thoughts on a powerpoint presentation that I may show my teacher. After taking the ferry back to the mainland, we went to a pizza parlor for dinner and watched the Giants' game. 

Ivy + Bean

Mommy Laura took me, Ruby, and Mira to see Ivy + Bean (the musical) in Berkeley.  Our Drama teacher, Katie, was in the show!  We had fun riding on the BART and eating gelato.

Playdate to Lawrence Hall of Science

We took my friend Alma to the LHS for her birthday present.  It was a great day 

Hike to Bernal Hill

Every day we look out our back yard and gaze across at a massive hill in the distance.  Yesterday we finally climbed to the top of Bernal Hill.  The view was pretty amazing. 

Starburst bracelets

This weekend I made matching bracelets for all of us.  Mommy Laura and I also bought matching shirts (we were going to get one for Daddy Pat, but he doesn't like t-shirts with writing on them). 

Aerial Class

I am taking an aerial arts class this term.  I've been hanging from all sorts of stuff, including ladders!

Two weeks in Ohio

California State Fair and Lake Tahoe

This past weekend we drove to Sacramento and stayed over in the hostel and went to the California State Fair.  Daddy Pat flew on to Salt Lake City while Mommy Laura and I drove to Lake Tahoe where she had to give a talk.  I went to a day camp on Monday and learned archery and swam in the super awesome pool (I liked it so much, I want to go back next summer!)

Playdate with Nora

My friend Nora came over so we could finish constructing our bathroom.  We built a toilet, bathtub, sink, and painted it (all out of cardboard).  

Camp with Daddy Pat!

Another great year at Lawrence Hall of Science!  This year my camps were Construction Junction and Secret Formulas.  And my friend Nicole was there too (our 3rd year together at camp!).  We also had a good time sleeping over one night in a hotel, eating pizza and a root beer float, and shopping at Goodwill in Berkeley.  Looking forward to next year!
