Go Hillary!

We were excited to see that Hillary won Ohio! And hope that Grandma McDonald did well in her role as "Chief Justice" as she was in charge of the voting procedures for her precinct (Munson D). And we also hope that Grandma and Grandpa Wagner voted correctly this time around!

Happy Valentine's Day

Thanks to Nonnie Liz and Grandpa Bill for the lovely bib. The past few days I have been quite a chatterbox (and also used the sign "phone"-- maybe there's a link?) I am not going to disclose which parent I might have inherited this trait from :) I also am walking independently now (as of a week ago). We will try and get some video of it to post at some point.

Winter Wonderland

We have almost 1.5 feet of snow on the ground at the moment (we had more but some melted earlier this week and then it snowed again). Anya has been having fun playing with it. And, she's started to sign "monkey" this week too. (why she won't sign more useful signs other than animals is beyond me... maybe she is telling us she wants to be a farmer, veterinarian, or zoo keeper....)

Our friend Annette is visiting this week from Germany (well, she lives in England at the moment). We went to Niagara Falls- one of the other Wonders of the World besides myself :)

BirthdayCelebrations.net describes the German tradition this way:

"On a child's birthday the house is decorated, the dining table or kitchen has a special wooden birthday wreath placed in it. The wreath contains small holes for candles and a holder in the center for the life candle. This a taller candle and is beautifully decorated. This candle is lit each year of a child's birthday until they reach the age of twelve." A variation on the tradition also uses small figures in place of the candles, as shown in the top of this post. (once Annette arrives I will ask her more about this tradition)
