Road Trip

This weekend we took the Megabus up to see Sonja and family. I had a great time playing with Morgan and John! and just hanging out and relaxing. Mommy Laura had a good time carrying wood into the house from the woodpile and swinging on the swings... It's so great to get out and smell the country. We also enjoyed a visit from Jackie who went to Case with Mommy Laura and Daddy Pat (and brought me my new stuffed bear, "Snake".

Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy

Nonnie Liz is taking me tomorrow to see the Nutcracker at the New York City Ballet. In preparation, Mommy Laura got me a book so I would know what the story is about. The (only) book (she could find) comes with stand up characters and a stage. I'm also really looking forward to putting on my new ballgown Nonnie Liz got me to wear the performance.

Don't try this at home!

Mommy Laura and I went this week to the Big Apple Circus. I loved watching the performers, especially the acrobats.

Princeton

This past Saturday we rented a car and drove to Princeton to see where Daddy Pat and Mommy Laura used to live. We ate breakfast at Small World Coffee (they have the best granola second to Grandma McDonald and Uncle Pete); walked by Daddy Pat's old Apartment on Bank Street; went to Terhune Orchards and took a wagon ride, got my pumpkin, and shared a caramel apple; visited the playground at their apartment in Plainsboro; and ate cheese omelet hoagies at Hoagie Haven. It was a great trip!

Cousins

I am so excited that I have some new cousins who live with me in Manhattan! Gus, Mia, and Lucia all moved here after their Daddy opened up a restaurant in the West Village. Looking forward to lots and lots of play dates.
(my cousins are actually related to me like this: they are the grandchildren of Daddy Pat's Uncle Tim and Aunt Kathy)

Betty Crocker Kitchens

I love to watch Betty Crocker Kitchens You Tube Videos on how to make various birthday cakes (butterflies, caterpillars, fire trucks, you get the idea). I finally got to make one this past weekend for Mommy Laura's birthday. Grandma Juanita helped me out. I'm already planning my next cake baking ideas....

Summer Streets

This past weekend we rode down part of Park Avenue and Lafayette Street in NYC to celebrate Summer Streets. The city closes off a path from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park for "people to play, walk, bike, and breathe. Summer Streets provides more space for healthy recreation and is a part of NYC's greening initiative by encouraging New Yorkers to use more sustainable forms of transportation." I did a great job keeping up!

I have moved on from eating sand and went to Coney Island on Sunday to play in it. It was a lot of fun. We ate fresh mangoes and got sunburned too.

We have an amazing playground and sprinklers at the apartment complex where I live. It has been a great and fun way to cool off this summer:

Off-road picking

On Sunday, we traveled up north to pick blueberries and sour cherries at an orchard. We picked A LOT! I think I definitely ate more than I picked, especially blueberries. I also had fun talking with the other pickers and the farmer...

(and yes, the highlight of the day may have been when I got to ride shotgun between the cherry orchard and the blueberry patch)

Freckleface Strawberry

The past three years I have gone strawberry picking. When I was 2, it was just for entertainment purposes, my mouth served as the basket. When I was 3, I placed a few in the basket, but mostly roamed the patch yelling from afar "Look how big this one is Mama/Daddy!". This year, I picked an entire basket and ate an entire belly full and had a really, really great time.

I can ride a bike

I can ride a bike without training wheels!!! Mommy Laura has a video of this event, but is still figuring out how to get it off her iphone.

No work. All play...

I love going into work with Mommy Laura. Taking the NYU bus into her office, chewing gum, making tea, playing on the computer, playing with glue and white-out, wandering around the halls looking cute, printing pictures to color... and letting mama get at least 5 minutes of work done.

Vacation

I was off school the past 2 weeks so one of the days my classmate Ava came over. We made pizza from scratch, went to the playground, played games, and dressed up in each other's clothes. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait until she comes back. Her mommy also happens to be a nurse too!
