Hiking shoes

This past Sunday I got to try out my new hiking shoes (from my favorite children's thrift store here in SF). We went to our neighboring McLaren Park and hiked over to the other side of it.

Soccer

This past weekend was my last soccer game with the Gigantes (Giants in Spanish). We play up near the Golden Gate Bridge so you'll see that in the background. I'll be starting basketball in January.

Garlic, Kale, and Calvin

This weekend we planted 31 garlic bulbils and a few small rows of kale. Of course, most of it involved entertaining Calvin in the backyard.

Sunday, Sunday

On Sunday, we woke up, made some frothy drinks and then went to explore the Outer Sunset neighborhood. It was about 7 blocks or so from the Ocean. We went to the library to see a presentation on Bats. We got to see real bats, up close, and I learned all about them. There was a really awesome playground right behind the library too.

Teacher

The teacher in the house has decided to turn the tables and give homework to the parents. Mommy Laura obviously is failing Art Class.

Preserve

This weekend we made about 25 jars of salsa. It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to make applesauce soon too.

Bon Voyage, Endeavour

We got to chase after the space shuttle at school last week. Can't wait to go see it in Los Angeles (or "Gloss Angeles" if you happened to have watched the Barbie: Fairy Secret movie like I did in NYC). I'm in the foreground just in case you can't find me.

Team Pink

Yesterday I attended an event sponsored by SF Parks & Recreation. For the whole day I learned a lot about track and field, golf, volleyball, basketball, and played games with other girls. It was a lot of fun (and only cost $5!). My favorite was getting to do the high jump.

3 garbage bags, 1+ hour of labor, 2 pairs of scissors, lots of scotch tape, and only a tiny bit of help from my parents...the dress was completed:

Tonight I took my tooth out. Mommy Laura is just glad she didn't have to (she can deal with just about anything but touching teeth and eyes).

Friendship

The past 5 weeks I attended summer camp at our local park. It was a lot of fun. One of the highlights was learning how to make friendship bracelets from the older girls. I can't wait to go back next year:

A hiking we will go

We are so fortunate to live so close to McLaren Park. It's the second largest park in San Francisco and has great hiking trails and breathtaking views from the top! We also discovered a trove of blackberries. I had fun trying to find the perfect stick for Calvin too. We didn't see any mountain lions this time, but maybe next time (hopefully not!)

Girl Power
